    Brief
    The lab spread over 5 intensive days. It offers the tools that result in a strong narrative short film screenplay while focusing on the individual’s unique voice as screenwriter through a series of exercises. It allows participants to develop their storytelling potential, their criticism faculty and their technical proficiency.
    Participants can either come in with an idea or come up with one during the lab. By the end of the lab, each participant is expected to have the first draft of their screenplay completed.

    All participants will receive certificates of completion by Cinephilia Productions and Nuqat.

    Day 1: Theme and three acts structure
    Day 2: Synopsis, Treatment, creative statement
    Day 3: Character development
    Day 4: Sequencing events
    Day 5: Dialogue: subtext & interior monologue | Formatting

    The Process
    1. Come up with just an idea of a short film in mind or come up with something during the workshop
    2. Develop your idea into a film first draft script

    Brief
    Improvisation is a quintessential tool for musical self-expression. Learning how to improvise in any musical setting is as important as being able to conduct any conversation with friends about any topic one can imagine.

    In this workshop, you will learn the fundamental vocabulary and the advanced tools that will help you find your voice and tell your own story as a musician.

    Learn how to:
    Use scales, chords and harmony in improvisation.
    Strengthen the link between what you hear and what you play.
    Use rhythm in improvisation.
    Create your own exercises for continuous improvement.
    Improvise on a jazz standard using chord symbols.

    Who can attend the workshop?
    Open for all instrumentalists and singers.
    Open for Classical, Arabic, Rock, Fusion and Jazz musicians.
    Non-musicians who wish to expand their knowledge about this topic are
    welcome to join and observe.

    Directing: The Director At Work

    Brief
    The directing lab covers the following topics: Screenplay analysis and breakdown, pre-visualization and director's vision, basic cinematography for directors, directing actors (actors will be present for auditions and rehearsal sessions)

    Each participant will be given the chance to prepare a screenplay and rehearse it with actors to deepen their hands on understanding of the filmmaking process. Participants have the option to either work on their own screenplay or on a screenplay assigned by the lab mentor.
